Chloe Herring's practice centres around using old travel photographs as the basis for paintings. She zooms in on the images, picking out specific and strange symbols such as statues, figures and barriers before reassembling them to create new spaces on canvas. A mechanical painting process, she cuts out large stencils and templates, making copies and using replicative shapes as a way to unpack the images.
